FINKBINER
Lorraine Carol

August 7, 1940 - June 30, 2022

It is with deep love and fond memories that the family of Lorraine Carol Finkbiner announce her passing to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the age of 81.
Lorraine was born August 7, 1940 along with her twin brother Lawrence in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan to Gilbert and Ada Beaton. Mom and Uncle Lawrence came from a very large family being the 9th and 10th children and they teased each other throughout the years who was the oldest. Lorraine liked to tell stories of her athleticism in her youth; how fast she was at track and field and what a great baseball player she was.
In 1960 Lorraine met the love of her life Bill Finkbiner and they were married December 16, 1961 and recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Lorraine and Bill raised 5 handsome boys who all inherited her sharp wit and strong work ethic.
Mom will be fondly remembered for her generousity and welcoming nature. Mom served many years in the restaurant business and will always be known for taking good care of her customers. She would arrive at the restaurant well before it was scheduled to open for her loyal customers who had to be on the road early. She loved to have coffee with her friends and was always up for a game of cards or dominos.
Lorraine was predeceased by her parents Gilbert & Ada Beaton, brothers Clarence Beaton and Johnny Beaton, sisters Viola Petch, Irene Ayers, Myrtle Warren and Mabel Both, and granddaughter Jessica Finkbiner.
Lorraine’s memory will be cherished by her husband Bill, sons Bill (Loretta), Doug (Colleen), John (Nicole), Pat (Trish) and Rick (Candace). She is also survived by her sisters Tillie Werstuik, Shirley Stange and brother Lawrence (Myrna) Beaton. Lorraine will lovingly be remembered by her 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and her large extended family of sisters in law, nieces, and nephews.
Friends and Family are invited to a Memorial Service July 23, 2022 at 1:00 at the Grace Community Church (1012 12 Ave SE, Drumheller AB.). There will be refreshments and visiting at the Newcastle Hall (1301 2nd Ave West) following the service.
John 14:1-3
Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.
