She also leaves behind her sisters and brothers-in-law Marian Schaffer (Bill), Trudy Rowbottom (Richard), Anne Bailey (Ed), Rick Dayman (Marie), and Bill Grills; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and stepson Alex; who were all very dear to her heart.
Along with her family, Alisa moved to the Drumheller Valley in 1969. She attended school locally from grade two through high school graduation and in her teenage years she was very active in sports receiving many awards and medals for her achievements.
Fred and Alisa met in 1988 and she began to see the beauty of Wayne through Fred’s eyes. They married in 1991 at the Wayne Community Hall. They worked side by side running the hotel, saloon, store, and campground in Wayne from sunup to sundown, retiring in 2013. During their retirement years, they spent time camping, fishing, attending music festivals, travelling, and relaxing. Due to their shared and deep love for music, they could often be found sitting around a campfire playing guitars and singing. Alisa touched many hearts and lives, she will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all her family and friends.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and doctors who helped Alisa during her times spent in hospitals in Drumheller, Red Deer, Calgary, and Hanna.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, September 21, 2024, at the Wayne Community Hall. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to The Wayne Community Association.
