FARMER
Donald Keith

September 21, 1937 - March 22, 2023

Donald Keith Farmer born on September 21, 1937, peacefully passed away at Saanich Peninsula Hospital on March 22, 2023.
Donald was born in Drumheller, Alberta. He grew up learning a strong work ethic and the importance of family. After a brief stint in the Canadian Military, Donald went on to become a carpenter & bookkeeper and eventually found his true vocation teaching Industrial Arts at the junior high school in Drumheller. It was of great satisfaction to Donald when he learned that his influence inspired a few of his students into the trades to become carpenters or welders.
Donald married Jean in 1961. Together they raised their daughters, attended St. Magloire’s church, took many wonderful vacations in their RV, and loved their lively home.
Jean & Donald retired to Brentwood Bay in 2001. They thoroughly enjoyed retired life, spending their summers on Vancouver Island and their winters in Arizona.
Donald was pre-deceased by his wife, Jean, in 2017. Left to treasure his memory are his sister Barb (Bruce), daughters Laurie (David), Katherine, Susan (Murray), Jamel (Ross); and grandchildren Lindsay, Blare, Hannah, Mac and Austin.
Post-polio dogged the past decade of Donald’s life with many challenges. It is comforting to know that his final days were filled with the faith, hope and optimism of reuniting with his wife, Jean, in heaven.
Donald’s ashes will be intered with Jean’s at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, 7921 St. Stephen Road, Saanichton, B.C.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Mount Newton Centre Lending Cupboard, Saanichton, B.C. or the Saanich Peninsula Hospital.
