SMITH
George Gary

July 31, 1958 - May 8, 2023

George Gary Smith passed away May 8, 2023 in Lethbridge, Alberta. He was born to George and Vera Smith on July 31, 1958 in Creston, BC. They moved back to Drumheller when he was small.
Gary enjoyed helping people with their gardens, snow removal, helping with fencing, working on vehicles at the gravel pits, cutting grass, and spending time at the go-carts. He loved being able to help wherever he could.
Gary enjoyed just visiting with family and friends. He always wanted to know what was happening and his phone calls saying, ‘just checking in to see what’s new’, will be remembered by everyone. He will be missed by all of his friends and family.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Gary at his favourite watering hole, the Waldorf Hotel, Saturday, May 27 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Nothing big and fancy as that was not who he was. Just come for a visit and tell stories.
The family would like to thank Roy D., Linda, Gay & Larry, Gary M, Grant, and his many other friends. You were not just friends, you were family.
He is home.

MacINTYRE
James Alexander

February 25, 1949 Drumheller, Alberta
- April 23, 2023 Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that the family of James Alexander MacIntyre of Calgary, Alberta announce his passing on April 23rd, 2023 at the age of 74 years.
James was born in Drumheller on February 25th, 1949, and lived there for 44 years. Through these years he was an active member of the community, owning and operating a market garden and greenhouse. As James grew older, he made a decision to branch out into a career in construction. One of his achievements was earning a Civil Engineering diploma at SAIT. This took him to different areas of Canada including Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and his home province of Alberta. During his career he worked on several challenging and diverse projects, such as hydro dams, oil and gas refineries, fertilizer production plants, and irrigation supply facilities. Though his life was enriched through his career, he also enjoyed his time with his family.
James was a father to Deanna, Orin (Fabiola), and Clarke (Jessica), as well as a grandfather to Bailey and Nichelle (Deanna), Eric and Mercedes (Orin), Mavie and Nixa (Clarke). He was fond of the time he spent with every one of them and especially cherished moments spent around the holidays.
James leaves behind memories of warmth and good conversation for those that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Donations on James’ behalf can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
