September 15, 2023, Corporal Jeffrey Dwight Charette (Ret), 74, passed away peacefully, surrounded in love with his family at his side.
Jeff will be missed by his loving partner Sandy Jones, his children Sonny Charette and Carrie Roxburgh (Jamie), and his grandchildren Jack and Olivia Charette, Max, Liam, and Kaeleigh Roxburgh. He will be forever remembered by his siblings Bob Charette (Karen), Karen-Lee Andrew (Mark), Michele Rutledge (Ken), Kathy Charette and Ross Charette. As well as the Jones Family, Alan (Bonnie), Debbie (Bob), and Kirk (Joanne). Jeff was a kind and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews on all sides of the family. Jeff was predeceased by his parents, George and Dolores (Grimes) Charette, his brothers, Jay and Kerry Charette, and the mother of his children, Cheryl Chad.
Jeff was a kind and loving uncle to Chelsea Latvala (Jeff), Maris Weir, Laura Andrew (Daniel), Dana Andrew (Randi), Dustin Andrew (Tiffany), Mary Jones (Gregory), Anna Skoberg (Shawn), Tess Bell (Nathan), Mia Rutledge, Jake Rutledge (Heather), Terry Charette (Tanya), Tracey Charette (Max), Brian Jones, Christopher Jones, Michael Sladden (Courtney) and Kim Sladden (Ryan). Jeff will be remembered fondly by all his grand-nieces, grand-nephews and extended Charette, Grimes, Jones, and Chad family.
Jeff was dedicated to a life of service. He fulfilled his life dream of becoming a Mountie in 1978 and served his country through service in the RCMP until his retirement in 2005. He was particularly proud of his service with Canada’s first permanent counter terrorism program the Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), and later with the RCMP’s National Peacekeeping Branch, and through the Canadian Police Arrangement (CPA), serving with multilateral missions overseas in Croatia, Bosnia, Kosovo (2), and Jordan. Jeff was very grateful for all the opportunities that he was given to serve his country. When Jeff was asked what his favorite experience was, he said: “All of it.”
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Orleans Branch 632, Ontario on Saturday, October 14th, 2023, beginning at 12:00 pm.

Our beloved Rosemary Rosin earned her wings and was called home to heaven on September 22nd, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family at the Consort Hospital.
Rosemary, loving wife, Mother and Grandmother was born in Drumheller on February 9th, 1959, to Carol and Edward Vogstad. She is survived by her husband Larry Rosin and four children; Lacey Bellerive (Trevor), Layton Rosin (Melissa), Cori Black (Kirby), Dione Rosin and grandchildren; Kylie, Lena, Abby, Ciana, Chloe, Emma, Liam, Mairi, Sabella, Charlee, Mataeah, Sykes and Thayne, father Edward Vogstad and Siblings; Marilee Allerdings (Erwin), Jardi Clark, Virginia Redel (Alan) and Carl Vogstad (Tresa). Rosemary is also remembered by plenty of nieces, nephews and friends. Rosemary was predeceased by her mother Carol.
Rosemary was indeed an adventurous person who grew up on the Echo Coulee Ranch in the Dalum community. She married Larry Rosin in 1980 and raised 4 wonderful children on their ranch in the Hand Hills. Rosemary had a special love for animals and enjoyed the great outdoors: hiking, camping and riding horses with her family. She was a talented artist, with a passion for singing, photography and painting.
A celebration of life for Rosemary Rosin will be held at the Hand Hills Lake Club House at 2 pm, Friday, September 29, 2023, followed by a luncheon.

Doreen Violet Burchnell passed away on September 16, 2023 at the Drumheller Health Centre (Continuing Care Facility) after a lengthy illness at the age of 90 years.
Vi was born June 19, 1933 and was raised in Drumheller, receiving her schooling in the valley. Vi moved out on her own by her late teen years and did various jobs for employment. In that time, her daughter Shannon was born. In the 60’s, Vi met her husband Robert Ellsworth Burchnell, a military man and had Shean and Susan Burchnell in Calgary, Alberta. Vi was widowed in 1977. She remained in Calgary until 2015 when she moved back to the valley. Vi spent her remaining years in the Drumheller Health Centre.
Vi was predeceased by her husband Robert, daughter Shannon, grandson Dillan and numerous other family members.
Vi leaves to mourn daughter Susan Burchnell; son Shean (Heather) Burchnell; grandchildren Travis, Justin, Angelina, Timothy, Alyssa, Dustin Burchnell, John and Jethro McMackin; great-grandchildren Keith, Breona, Alanah, Tyler, nieces, nephews and other family members.
A Memorial Service will be held for Vi on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at the Church of the Nazarene, Drumheller, AB with Pastor Carlos Calderon officiating. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Drumheller Community Cancer Centre, 351 9 St. NW, Drumheller, AB T0J 0Y1.
