The Knights of Columbus showed its support for The Salvation Army and its Kettle Campaign by donating $800 to the effort from its annual fundraising. At the presentation are Salvation Army Community and Family Service coordinator Amanda Courtenay, Knights of Columbus Ray Dumaine and Major Laura Burrell of The Salvation Army.

Skye Fabick has a passion for decorating baking and helping those in need.
This is the third year Syke, 10, a Grade 5 student at Greentree School has turned to a bake sale to help those in need.
The tradition started in 2020 when she was not able to celebrate her birthday because of COVID-19 restrictions. Rather than feel bad about it, she and her mother Melanie, who has a home-based baking business decided to have a bake sale and donate the funds to The Salvation Army in time for Christmas.
She began by selling to family and friends, and this year expanded out through social media.
The first year went over well, and the second year was even better.
She again excelled and raised $800 this year and decided to donate the funds she raised on Fill the Kettle Day where Walmart Canada would match the donations made to the Christmas Kettles in their stores.
