The Royal Tyrrell Museum has stepped up its cleaning and sanitizing protocols and remains open for visitors.
According to a statement from the Royal Tyrrell Museum:

“The safety of Albertans is our top priority.
On the advice of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, the Government of Alberta is asking organizers to cancel any events that have more than 250 attendees. At this time, that does not include museums, places of worship, or shopping centres. The Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology continues to be open to the public.
We have increased cleaning in our facility, especially in high traffic areas. All staff and patrons have substantial access to hand sanitizer and handwashing facilities.
All Albertans should practice good hygiene, such as frequent handwashing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and should stay home if feeling ill.
If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you please stay home and away from others.
As a precaution, we have decided to cancel the following programs:
• Our March and April public overnight Camp-In programs
• Our overnight Edutour program for school groups (until April 13)
• All school field trips (until April 13)
• The remainder of our 2020 Speaker Series.
If you have any questions, please contact our bookings office at tyrrell.bookings@gov.ab.ca.
We will continue to closely monitor the situation to determine if additional precautions are needed. We encourage all Albertans and visitors to the Royal Tyrrell Museum to follow the guidelines at alberta.ca/COVID19 to help prevent the spread.”

In light of efforts being made to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus the AJHL has cancelled the playoffs.
This weekend the Drumheller Dragons were set to take on the Brooks Bandits in the second round of the playoffs. Hockey Canada has issued a statement regarding hockey operations.
“After much consultation with the Hockey Canada membership, our chief medical officer and public health officials, the Hockey Canada Board of Directors has made the decision to cancel all Hockey Canada-sanctioned activities, including our national championships, until further notice, effective Friday, March 13, 2020,” reads the statement issued on behalf of Hockey Canada from Tom Renney, chief executive officer, and Scott Smith, president and chief operating officer.
“We recognize the tremendous effort that has been put forth all year by individuals across the country as they participate in Canada’s game. Although it is difficult to process the hockey season ending abruptly, we feel this is the best course of action in order to do our part in keeping our country safe.”

A statement from the Dragons notes they are “fully supportive of the decision made today collectively by Hockey Canada and CJHL to suspend play this season until further notice. The health and safety of our staff, players, guests, and community, is of vital importance.”
The organization will have more information for Season Ticket Holders, ticket buyers, and partners in the near future.
