Drumheller RCMP are investigating after a youth pedestrian was involved in a collision on Thursday, November 16.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on November 16, emergency services from Drumheller including the Fire Department, EMS, Municipal Enforcement, and RCMP responded to reports of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian near the Drumheller Valley Secondary School located at 450 17 Street East.
On arrival, it was found that a 12 year old female student, from Drumheller, was struck by a pickup truck while attempting to cross 7 Ave East near Drumheller Valley Secondary School. The student was transported via ground ambulance to Drumheller Health Centre then airlifted by STARS Air Ambulance to Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary with serious injuries believed to be non life threatening.
The investigation revealed that alcohol, drugs, and speed were not factors in this collision. RCMP continue to investigate this matter.
