Red Deer River water flows to Kathryn development

Kathyrn, a hamlet northeast of Calgary, tapped into Drumheller’s water to provide for a proposed housing development to be built in the area.
On November 24, council approved an amendment to the Water Supply Agreement between Kneehill Regional Water Services Commission (KRWSC) and the Town of Drumheller, to allow the KRWSC to sell their treated water outside the boundaries of the agreement.



Classrooms examine political turmoil in Ottawa

Last week was a period in Canadian politics that will be discussed and debated in the coming days and years. The Loyal Opposition exercised the tools of the Canadian Parliamentary system to its fullest potential, and threatened to take power. This was not before the Prime Minister introduced the country to the word ‘prorouge,’ and was granted a reprieve until January 26.

   


Food drive best ever

    In the midst of the flurry of Wednesday night’s food drive, into Captain Bram Pearce’s hands drops a Christmas card from a person who received a food hamper last Christmas. A small gesture of thanks that reaches beyond The Salvation Army, but to the whole community.
    “This is what makes this worthwhile, right?” says Bram.
