The Village of Delia is looking for a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) following the resignation of former CAO, Tracy Breese.
Breese was hired into the role in April 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic; her last day in office was Wednesday, June 30.
“We are presently advertising for a new CAO,” says Delia Mayor David Sisley.
The village appointed Bill Wulff of Drumheller as interim CAO on Wednesday, July 7. He will remain the interim CAO until the role can be filled permanently.
Wulff is the former manager of finance and information systems for the Town of Drumheller, and a local accountant. He has volunteered his time and services to help seniors and low-income residents prepare tax returns, and was awarded the Alberta Seniors and Housing Minister’s Senior Service Award in 2018.
Mr. Wulff is also in charge of the Town of Drumheller’s annual Canada Day fireworks display.
Despite losing their CAO, Mayor Sisley says the village should not be affected “too badly” and says they will be able to “keep the village running.”
The regular July council meeting was cancelled in light of Breese’s resignation, and office hours have been reduced to Mondays in July.

Carlie Bell was an exceptional 4-Her. She was extremely active in the Drumheller District 4-H Council and the Morrin 4-H Multi Club. In 2011, Carlie died of viral encephalitis after a work/travel adventure in New Zealand and Australia. Carlie had great leadership skills and promoted 4-H involvement. The Carlie Bell Scholarship promotes working for the benefit of the group at the club and district levels. The 2021, 10th Annual Carlie Bell Memorial Scholarship goes to two recipients: Amanda Holowath from the Rumsey Rowley 4-H Beef Club and Ashley McNaughton from the Morrin 4-H Multi-Club.
