Rotary Club's Paul Harris Award presented to Scott Kuntz

Scott Kuntz is the recipient of the Rotary Club of Drumheller’s 2021 Paul Harris Award. This is the highest recognition a club can bestow upon a member. Saturday evening, July 10, Pam Earl (left) talked about Scott’s life and contributions while club past-president Bev Krabsen (right) made the presentation of the award.


Carbon Cruizers hold successful first car show

Carbon Cruizers held their first car show on Saturday, July 10 with some 35 cars lining up along Caradoc Avenue in the Village of Carbon. Car enthusiasts enjoyed a variety of cars, from classic cars and modern muscle. Following the event’s success, event organizer Marty Morgan is hopeful this will become an annual event in the village.

Wayne highway bridge launched

Last week crews slowly inched the replacement bridge #4 on Highway10x into place. Work began last fall for the two-lane steel truss bridge to replace the original bridge which was built in 1928. While the bridge is in place it is not yet in service, and drivers can expect to encounter alternating flow on the highway until it is complete. The total cost of construction was estimated at $5.1 million.
