*Updated*Three Hills man in police custody following sexual assaults

Three Hills RCMP detachment advises that a man fitting the description of the suspect in the Prairie Bible Institute sexual assaults turned himself in to RCMP this afternoon around 1:00 p.m.

Video surveillance on site captured images of the alleged suspect and Three Hills RCMP asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual.

In the early morning hours of August 17, 2014 a male suspect broke into the student dormitories at the Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta. It is alleged that while inside, the suspect sexually assaulted several students in their dorm rooms before leaving the building and riding away on a bicycle. The investigation indicates that none of the victims were physically injured during the incident.

RCMP would like to thank the public for their support and assistance during this matter.

Place the faces

The Badlands Historical Society would like to hear from anyone who recognizes the faces in the photographs, or knows the history on the jacket. The military service jacket has “J. OMO” on the label and distinctive buttons that have an oversized “X” with a beaver in the middle of the X. The Historical Society is currently archiving and cataloguing items in its collection, and hopes to continue the work over this winter.

Trampoline tossed into trees

People usually expect to see a trampoline on the ground - but how about in a tree?
Wind gusts have been common with the recent stormy weather, and one of those gusts blew an area family’s large trampoline up into the trees Thursday night.
Dalum’s Alyssa Acorn said a wind gust lasting about three minutes tossed the trampoline into the trees about 7 p.m., August 14. The trampoline is sitting about fifteen feet off the ground.
The Acorns live on an acreage in Dalum.
