During the late evening hours of Monday, July 20 and early morning hours of Tuesday, July 21, Drumheller detachment with assistance from the Southern Alberta District Emergency Response Teams conducted two searches.
One of the searches was in Cambria while the other one was in the Rural Area just North and East of Drumheller. Both searches were associated with the possession and sale of illegal drugs.
A total of eight persons were arrested and are facing a wide variety of charges. These charges range from Possession for the Purpose of trafficking, Possession of a Narcotic, Possession of Stolen property, as well as breaches to outstanding court orders. A small amount of drugs valued under $2,000 was seized as well as drug paraphenalia.
Names are not being released at this time pending the official charges being sworn.
