Mark your calendars for another exciting ride! From July 3-7, music lovers and followers of the Rosebud Chamber Music Festival will be introduced to musicians they recognize as well as performers who are new to Drumheller, Rosebud, and Three Hills area.
These busy musicians hail from Edmonton, Calgary, and Toronto and bring exquisite musical mastery wherever they show up, whether as soloists, orchestral players or instructors! They’ll offer a full concert program, which will include César Franck’s ravishing piano quintet!
Just back from concerts in Yellowknife and Powell River, the dynamic duo of Keith Hamm and Julie Hereish will, as always, bring their inexhaustible dynamism to this week of concerts. They are joined by Diana Cohen, violinist and concertmaster of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. You may have heard her dazzling concertos with the CPO or at her brand new festival, ChamberFest West, in Calgary. Amy Hillis (violinist), originally from Regina, is now teaching and performing in Toronto. She brings phenomenal musicianship to the team and is passionate about fostering a love of chamber music with audiences and students alike. And we look forward to meeting the illustrious pianist, Todd Yaniw, who has brought his artistry to concert halls across Canada.
The performances of the Rosebud Chamber Music Festival have always been riveting, and with new and returning faces, this year is sure to live up to its reputation. With so many music lovers in Drumheller, it’s wonderful to provide such an exciting classical music experience up close and personal!
NEW THIS YEAR: A ticket to either concert in Three Hills or Rosebud also provides FREE access to the WINGS AND STRINGS shenanigans on Wednesday, July 3 at the Rosebud Mercantile. It’s a delightful evening of food, beverages and impromptu music-making by world-class performers, where they pull music off the shelf and sight-read - just for the joy of it.
