Students in Shirlee Makse’s Grade 11 Career and Life Management (CALM) class at St. Anthony’s School were given the opportunity to learn resume and cover letter writing skills, and practice their interview skills as part of the You’re Hired Interview Competition. This is the sixth year the Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce (DDCC) has partnered with the local Drumheller school for the program, following a brief hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic, and a total of six local community employers participated to give students first-hand experience with interviewing, including the Town of Drumheller, Corrections Canada, and Canalta. Each student was graded by the employers based on their resumes and two interviews--both individually and in front of their peer group. The top three students were presented with cash prizes and awards by DDCC Executive Director Heather Bitz on Thursday, April 28. The winners of the competition are first place Aryan Chand, second place Princess Mayo, and third place Samuel Day.
