Delia student receives early Christmas present

  A Delia student’s writing has guaranteed him free passage to Europe with his school, after winning an essay contest.
    Delia School students are on their way to Europe. They plan to see six countries in 14 days come this April. Leading up to the trip, Kay Dee Harper, Delia School athletic director organized an essay contest with the prize being a free trip to Europe. The funds for the trip were raised by community members. Thirteen judges read the essays and Grade 12 student Aaron Tober was chosen as the winner.
 
 


Partnerships celebrated at affordable housing project

affordable-housing.jpgCouncillor Karen Ann Bertamini could hardly contain her emotions as she addressed a number of the partners that have contributed to Drumheller's new affordable housing project.
    The project in Drumheller is on track to be completed by the spring of 2009. On Thursday, December 11, partners including staff and council members from the Town of Drumheller, Keller Construction, inmates from the Drumheller Institution, Warden Mike Hanly and Institution staff, gathered on site. Bertamini, who has served on the Drumheller Housing Authority for many years, has been a proponent of the project.




Time capsule revealed at Tyrrell Field Station

 Rex Martin, who has worked at the Royal Tyrrell Museum doing fabrication for years, made a curious discovery that had he not seen it, he wouldn’t have believed it… rather, he wouldn’t have remembered.
    This summer he was working at the Tyrrell Field Station in Dinosaur Provincial Park, giving some of the display case facades a sprucing up, when he and Tom Courtenay stumbled onto piece of history intentionally left by Martin himself more than 20 years ago.
