CWL marks 100 years

The Catholic Women’s League (CWL) had a very enjoyable evening celebrating 100 years of faith and service to the parish & valley. Mass was celebrated by Fr. Lukas Drapal, St. Anthony’s parish priest, followed by a banquet and program, with approximately 50 ladies in attendance. Congratulatory greetings were received from Renee Spohn, Catholic Women’s League Diocesan President and Crystal Sereda, Town of Drumheller Councillor.

The East Coulee SpringFest was another great success as hundreds of music fans descended on the community to hear some eclectic offerings of roots, folk, blues and a little jazz. The quartet Juke played a bluesy set in the East Coulee Community Hall on Saturday night, May 6 to the delight of fans. The East Coulee SpringFest is a major fundraiser for the East Coulee School Museum.

Drumheller Fire, EMS, RCMP respond to single vehicle car accident

Drumheller emergency responders attended a single vehicle accident just before 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10. Fire, EMS, and RCMP responded to the call of a vehicle which struck the Rustic Chic Flowers and Gifts building on 3 Avenue West. The building sustained some damage, including a broken window, and a bench located outside the building was also damaged in the collision. 3 Avenue West was temporarily closed to traffic. At the time of reporting there were no known injuries and cause of the accident is unknown at this time.
