Chinook Financial donates to the "Get Gus a girlfriend" fund

Members of Chinook Financial Drumheller presented members of the Dino Arts Association with a cheque for $500 on Monday to help get Gus the dinosaur a girlfriend. Earlier this summer, the Dino Arts Association announced the plan to build Gus the dinosaur a girlfriend who will sit across the street from him. 
Jessica Sharpe at Chinook Financial said the credit union puts the challenge out for others to donate to the great cause. She said the staff "can't wait for Gus to get a girlfriend."

Injuries sustained in two vehicle collision

Emergency Services in Drumheller responded shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and 2nd Street near Knox United Church. There were four passengers in a larger SUV, and a single occupant in a smaller motorvehicle. Air bags deployed in the smaller vehicle, and it appears the driver was unscathed. There were injuries, however the severity is unknown at this time. Police are investigating.

Drumheller man charged in 2007 Chestermere murder

RCMP have arrested and charged two males in relation to the deadly shooting and homicide of Pirtpal Singh JHAJJ** which occurred on Saturday, May 12, 2007 in Chestermere, Alberta.

Sanjit RANHU, a 30 year old male of Drumheller has been charged with First Degree Murder and two counts of Discharging a Firearm with Intent to Endanger Life.

Amaritpal SINGH, a 29 year old male of Surrey, British Columbia was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder.

Both RANHU and SINGH are in custody to appear in court at a later date.

“These arrests are as a result of several years of investigation, perseverance, attention to detail and team work between our various RCMP units", says Inspector Derek Williams, Officer in Charge of the Alberta RCMP Major Crime Unit in Southern Alberta. “There is no time limit on our Homicide investigations when it comes to solving and bringing these matters to the Crown and Court for Prosecution”.

Pirtpal was 24 years old at the time of his death.  RCMP investigators have been in contact with the JHAJJ family regarding these developments.
