On October 4, 2019 in the evening hours,  Drumheller RCMP entered into an investigation involving possible offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

A vehicle was stopped which resulted in the arrest of two adult males.  Evidence discovered during a search of the vehicle provided grounds to believe that the males were involved in the trafficking of drugs.

Police seized quantities of individually prepared Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Oxycodone and suspected Fentanyl as well as other evidence supporting the charges.  Both males were already bound by court imposed release conditions in relation to other matters and have been charged additionally with breaching those orders.

One of the males (27) from Three Hills was released on court documents with strict conditions and a court date of October 25, 2019. The second male (35) also from Three Hills was held for a Judicial Interim Release hearing.

The Dyno Legacy All-Star Cheerleading Team feels every kid deserves to celebrate their birthday and is showing support for those in need in the community.
They are busy with their  Pay it Forward Happy Birthday Donation project. Members of the team are collecting birthday donations for the local food bank.
“We got to thinking about all the kids on the team and said ‘can you imagine them not celebrating a birthday?’ It’s not that times are tough enough, but what if you could not celebrate your child’s birthday or your child feeling like you couldn’t have a birthday?” said coach Lorelei Coultes.
They have challenged their team members to go out and purchase one or two items for a birthday party. This could be cake mixes, candles, plates, cups, or loot bag makings. They will assemble the items and donate them to The Salvation Army Food Bank.
“We feel this area may be overlooked and we feel every child deserves to celebrate their day no matter what their situation may be,” she said.
Coultes says the team is wanting others to pay it forward and are issuing a challenge to other youth groups or sports teams to collect donations as well. Coultes says they hope to make it an annual initiative.
