The hard work and dedication of West Wheatland 4-H Club members will be on display on Wednesday, June 6 at the year-end Show and Sale.
The Rockyford Beef Club the Standard Sheep Club and the Cheadle Beef and Sheep Clubs will be at the West Wheatland 4-H Show in Rockyford.
4-H organizer Tim Dahm says the clubs are strong.
“There are a bunch of young kids starting up in the Beef Club, especially in Rockyford,” he said adding, there are a number of acreages in the area, which is great for the sheep clubs.
He says 4-H teaches great lessons.
“It teaches responsibility as far as the livestock end of it, But it teaches lots of other great things like the public speaking end of it,” said Dahm. “Work ethic is what they learn.”
They have a big event planned. The Rockyford Club will have 27 steers and Cheadle Beef Club will have 10 for a total of 37 steers on the auction block. The Standard Sheep Club is also strong with 22 sheep, and the Cheadle Club have five for a total of 27 on the auction block.
There will also be a charity lamb auctioned off for the War Amps Camp.
The Show starts at 12:30 p.m. at the Rockyford Sportsplex. This is where the members shine, showing their animals. Dinner is at 5 p.m. and the auction begins at 6 p.m.
