With the Miners Centennial celebrations just under two weeks away, many in the valley are looking back on the forces who created Drumheller – no, not the dinosaurs – the men who toiled in the earth and the unfavourable conditions they dealt with on a daily basis.
Numerous buildings throughout the valley have stood the test of time, and many of those still standing were built by Stanley Campbell.
There are few old timers left in the valley who can still remember the Drumheller Social Club, a place where friends gathered to quip about local happenings, place bets on horses and play cards.
