Who Are You? Eric Neuman

EricNeuman

Age? 28
Job Title? River guide at Red Deer River Adventures.
What is your favourite part of your job? Being outside literally all day.
What is your favourite part of kayaking/canoeing? The excitement of rapids and being out in nature.
What is your favourite run of the Red Deer River? Starting in Cambria and floating to East Coulee is pretty amazing.
What is the longest kayaking/canoeing trip you have been on? When I was a kid we went on a 3-day camping/canoeing trip down the Red Deer River. It was pretty fun.
What made you decide to open business in the valley? I really wanted work where I could be outside and also meet new people.
If you were to survive the zombie apocalypse, what would be your tactic? I have actually talked about this a lot with some friends. We decided that the Royal Tyrrell Museum would work as a great base during the zombie apocalypse because it is self-sustaining. You could board up the garden and grow your own food.
Favourite music? I like all sorts of music. If I had to choose a band I like the most music from, it would have to be Queen or David Bowie.
Favourite TV Show? Game of Thrones.
If you could choose a super power, what would you choose? Telekinesis, because you can move yourself as well as other objects. That is way better than, say, flying.
If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Jim Carrey, because he is funny and inspirational. He is also Canadian.
What is your life motto? It would have to be, do what you have to be to be successful, but most importantly do what makes you happy.

Carl Marjorae C. Estacio

Age: 24
Employer: Freson Bros.
Job: Meat Cutter
Most interesting thing about the job? That I still have my fingers intact – still got the money makers.
What do you like most about Drumheller? The sites, the attractions, how the hills change colour dawn, noon, and night.
What would you change? It doesn’t change. It’s prehistoric, if I may say. But it took a piece of me and I love it.
Describe yourself in three words: Loony, happy-go-lucky, and sometimes serious. My concentration span is only 10 minutes, max.
How do you take your coffee? Dark – a double shot of espresso for those crazy nights.
What do you do for fun? Walk through the river, good ol’ times with friends. What to do with your money when you’re young but spend it on fun. And I’m always taking care of my pet snake, Lucy.
What do you feed her? Frozen mice. While I was doing the highway cleanup I found some mice but they escaped from the box.
Favourite music? All about the post-rock, metal. Anything that pumps up the beats. But number one will always be The Beatles.
Who do you want to have dinner with? God, when I pass away.
Would you survive a zombie apocalypse? Probably not. I’d rather die for my friends than my friends die for me.

Age: 18
Employer: Visitor Information at the World’s Largest Dinosaur. I’m a summer student.
What do you study? Travel and Tourism at SAIT.
What will you do after school? I want to work for the tour operators “G Adventures.” They organize trips based on your interests and give back to workers in visited countries by providing jobs.
What do you like most about your job? It’s cool helping people get to where they’re going. Also it’s interesting seeing people from other countries learn about Drumheller.
Describe yourself in three words: It’s difficult, but: outgoing, positive outlook, and wanderlust.
Wanderlust? You like to travel? I actually just got back from Vietnam. Some villagers invited us into their homes and I saw how content they were without the things we take for granted.
Where have you travelled? Through the States, Cuba, and Vietnam.
What’s your favourite dinosaur? The ceratops, because we share a name: “Sarahtops.”
How do you take your coffee? Two cream, two sugar.
Favourite food? Chinese food.
Who would you like to have dinner with? Leonardo Di Caprio. He’s my man crush.
Favourite Leo film? The Revenant.
Would you survive a zombie apocalypse? No! I’d probably just hide until someone found me.
