Who Are You? Vicki Hardy

Employer: Owner\operator of two new companies: Hardy Health and Wellness, and Vicki’s Gluten Free Goodies.
Occupation: Reflexologist and gluten free baker.
What do you like most about your job? I am my very own boss.
What is your dream job? I am living the dream!
How long have you been in the Valley? I was born and raised in Drumheller. I went away for school but the Valley always called me back.
What do you like most about living here? Every town has it’s challenges but for the size of Drumheller we do have everything.
What are some of your top travel destinations? Since we have two little girls I would say Disneyland is next on the list.
What is your most memorable childhood toy? Nothing comes to mind but I still have my teddy.
Favorite TV show? Call the Midwife.
Favorite colour? Tropical island blue. Really anything that reminds me of sitting on the beach.
If you were making a movie about your life, whom would you want to play the part of you? Jennifer Lawrence because she was so good in the Hunger Games movies.
What is the one piece of technology you could not live without? I hate to admit it but I am pretty attached to my cell phone.
Favorite quote? “Always believe that something wonderful is about to happen.”

How long have you been in the Valley? One year.
Where are you from? Calgary.
What do you like most about The Valley? I like, that compared to the city, everything is close by.
What was your first job and what was the worst part about it? My first job was as a custodian and the worst part about it was cleaning the toilets after someone got sick. I also hate vacuuming too.
What song would be the theme song of your life? The theme song from the Office. I love that show.
What is your favorite movie? Gladiator. That is a great film.
Which would you prefer - celery or chocolate? Chocolate.
Which do you prefer - ski or snowboard? Snowboarding.
What is your favorite sport? Hockey.
If you could have any superpower what would it be? Flight. I have always wanted to fly.
Name three words you would use to describe your spouse? Kind. Funny. Beautiful.
What colour are your wife’s eyes? Green.
What words of wisdom would you give to others? If what you are doing is not working go with something else.

Occupation: Kindergarten teacher.
What do you like most about your job? I love my students. They challenge and inspire me to be a better person and a better teacher every day.
How long have you lived in the Valley? About a month.
What do you like most about the Valley? I love the scenery, running and biking on the paths by the river.
Where are you originally from? Okotoks, Alberta.
What was the first job you ever had and what was the worst part of it? My first job was lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons. The worst part was having to clean up accidents people had.
What sort of activities do you do in the community? I am planning on getting involved in a couple of local choirs and try to get onto one of the local soccer teams.
What would you like to do more of? I would love to write more music.
If you had to choose just one thing to eat the rest of your life, what would it be? Probably salad because there can be so much variety in a salad.
What super power would you choose? I have always wanted to fly.
What would your theme song be? Pick Yourself Up by Swing Time J.
If you could hang out with anyone, who would it be? I wish I could have met Mother (Saint) Teresa.
Any words of wisdom? Always try to stay positive. Everything happens for a reason, and even if things are not going the way you expected or wanted them to, there is still hope. Also, remember that you have the power to brighten someone else’s day with a kind word or a smile.
