Who are you? Nick Dalton

Age: 24

Employment: Power Line Technician for ATCO Electric.

What’s the most terrifying part of your job? Working with high voltage electricity on a daily basis.

What profession did you want to pursue as a kid? I really wanted to be a fireman because I wanted to help people and do good for the community.

If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you would buy? I would take all of my friends and family on a foreign vacation.

What’s the most memorable vacation you’ve ever had? The first time my parents took me to Disneyland. I think I was about five years old. I remember meeting all my childhood heroes like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. It was every kid’s dream I think.

If you weren’t living in Drumheller, where would you like to live? Somewhere south I think or maybe in Australia, along the coast most likely, where it’s warm all year long.

If you were trapped on a deserted island, what three essentials would you require? I would need a fishing rod, a swiss army knife, and a crossbow.

What’s something you’d like to see in your lifetime? I’d really like to travel to Europe and Africa. Just to see different parts of the world, and to see different cultures would be great. I’d possibly like to volunteer in areas with high poverty rates.

If you were ruler of the world, what would be your first move? I say spread the wealth. Try to help out developing nations so they could have it as good as we have it here in Canada.

Who are you? Tricia Hatch

Age: 30.

Occupation: I own and choreograph everything for Tricia Hatch School of Dance.

What do you like most about your job? Working with kids and hearing the hilarious things they say.

You have a passion for dance? Yeah. I started dancing when I was 10, which is kind of old. I stuck with it and have been dancing ever since.

How long have you lived in the valley? 4 years.

Where are you from originally? Taber, but we moved here from Edmonton.

What do you like most about the Valley? The people and the sense of community. I felt like we became a part of the community quickly.

Anything you would change? More shopping.

What are your top travel destinations? I want to go to New York and see some Broadway shows and Greece, because it looks beautiful.

If you could travel through time, when and where would you visit? Back to when entertainers were triple threats. They could sing, dance, and act. So, the 1950’s.

If you could hang out with anyone, who would it be? Audrey Hepburn, because she’s amazing. I love her films, she’s beautiful, poised, and talented.

What would you do with $1 million? Pay off my mortgage, go to New York, and take my family and parents on vacation.

One thing you could eat for the rest of your life? Potatoes and gravy with a nice roast beef.

What is your most memorable childhood toy? A stuffed bear named Bobby. I still have him.

What’s on your playlist these day? I have a little of everything, but I’m particularly liking Adele right now.

What is one piece of technology you could not live without? My iPad. Everything else could go, but I can do most things with the iPad.

What superpower would you want? Fly, so I can go anywhere, whenever I want.

Any words of wisdom? Life is good, be happy.

Who are you? Francois Therrien

Age: 37

Position: Curator of Dinosaur Palaeoecology

How long have you lived in the valley? I first came in 2004. I lived here until about 2009. Now me and my spouse live in Calgary and I commute everyday.

What do you like most about Drumheller? The beauty of the landscape for sure, and the fact that we find lots of dinosaurs here.

If you could, which dinosaur would you use as a mode of transportation and why? I would have to say a pterodactyl. It would speed up the commute from Calgary to fly the whole way, not to mention I would miss all the traffic.

What is your favorite cartoon dinosaur and why? Dino from The Flintstones. He is the first cartoon dinosaur I can really remember from my childhood.

What pre-historic animal would you like to keep as a pet? I wouldn’t mind a Triceratops. They are herbivores so it probably wouldn’t bite me. It also has lots of spikes and a big tail so it could protect me if need be.

What is your favorite dinosaur-theme movie, besides Jurassic Park? Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend. It’s an older movie but I remember it being a nice family movie.

If you could travel back in time, what time period would you visit and why? I would like to visit Alberta when the dinosaurs were still around. It would be interesting to see what they looked like in their living form rather than just at their bones and fossils. I also wouldn’t mind to go back to Ancient Egypt. It would be really neat to see how they accomplished such amazing architecture that still baffles experts today.
