Who Are You? Brad Burnell

Age: 36.
Occupation: Manager.
Employer: Sandstone Lanes.
How long have you lived in Drumheller? Since mid September, so I’m brand new to town.
Where are you from originally? I grew up in Carstairs.
What brought you to Drumheller? The opportunity to manage a bowling alley. We’re renovating the roof, lounge, and adding an arcade.
What do you like most about Drumheller? The people. Being a new person in town, everyone has been very welcoming.
Any travel destinations in mind? I try to do a trip to somewhere warm once a year.
Who would you most like to hang out with? Wayne Gretzky. I saw all his games in Calgary and I got a puck from him when the All Star game was there. I was wearing a Gretzky jersey and when he skated past he saw me, tapped on the glass, and tossed me a puck.
What is one thing you could eat for the rest of your life? Tacos.
Any hobbies? I‘ve bowled for ten years, played baseball since I was five, and gaming. I’m looking forward to doing some slo-pitch next year.

Favourite games? Sports games. I have all the NHL’s and Tiger Woods games since 2000.
What would be your theme song? I’m a country guy, so I’d have to say Kenny Chesney’s I’ll be Back.
Favourite movies? I love action packed movies, like Die Hard and Blade. Bruce Willis and Wesley Snipes are two of my favourite actors.
What is one piece of technology you could not live without? I hate to say it, but I live on my phone.
What is your most memorable childhood toy? My original Nintendo.
What would you do with $1 million? I would take care of my family first, then I would use it to travel.
What superpower would you want? Fly, then I could go somewhere warm and not have to pay.
Any words of wisdom? Live every day like it’s your last.


Who Are You? Marissa Steinberg

Age: 26.
Employer: Valley Veterinary Clinic.
Occupation: Associate veterinarian.
Dream job? This is it. My parents have pictures of me when I was really little reaching for animals and it hasn’t changed. I love helping animals.
How long have you lived in Drumheller? Since July.
What brought you here? I was looking for a mixed animal job and this practice has that.
Where are you from originally? Hamilton, Ontario, but I moved to Arizona when I was eight. I moved to PEI to do veterinary school.
What do you like most about Drumheller so far? I really like the small town feel and unique geography. It also has a western feel, sort of like Arizona.
Any travel destinations in mind? I was in Kenya and New Zealand and did some volunteering with cows and I would love to go back to both. I’d also like to see South America.
If you could travel through time, when and where would you go? Probably the renaissance.
If you could hang out with any fictional character, who would it be? I’m team Edward.
What is your most memorable childhood toy? I still have them, my teddy bears Salt and Pepper.
Any hobbies? I’ve hiked in the Grand Canyon twice, I love backpacking and travelling.
Play any sports? I used to play competitive volleyball and lacrosse in high school and college.
Favourite movies? Ten Things I Hate About You, Shawshank Redemption, Princess Bride, the old Mr. Doolittle, and the old Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
What would you do with $1 million? Pay off my student loans, help my family pay off their mortgages and loans, take my family on vacation, and invest the rest.
What superpower would you want? Talk to animals, it would make my job a lot easier.
Any words of wisdom? I like Ellen’s saying, be kind and take care of each other.

Who Are You? Chris Capobianco

Age: 24.
Employer: Royal Tyrrell Museum/Drumheller & District Chamber of Commerce.
Occupation: Preparation Technician.
What do you like most about your job? I get to work on fossils, it’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid.
How long have you been in Drumheller? About 2 1/2 years.
Where are you from originally? Mississauga.
What do you like most about Drumheller? I like the valley and the great scenery.
What is the coolest place you’ve been to? I went to Aruba, but that wasn’t the coolest. I’d say Quebec City.
If you could travel through time, when and where would you go? Watch the Big Bang from a spaceship.
What is the one thing you could eat for the rest of your life? My perogy extravaganza. You can probably only eat it a dozen times before you clog your arteries.
What are the most terrifying movies you’ve seen? When I was 8, Spawn was a scary movie. So was Starship Troopers. Fire in the Sky was really scary when I was a kid.
What is your favourite song to sing at karaoke? Short Skirt Long Jacket by Cake.
Have you ever tried the Thriller dance? Not in front of other people.
What is the scariest video game you’ve played? Probably Bioshock.
Do you have a Halloween costume this year? I dressed up as a zombie coal miner for the Haunted Coal Mine.
Play any sports? I play softball, volleyball, hockey, and football. Basically anything.
Favourite sports teams? The Anaheim Ducks, but because there is no NHL now, it’s now the Miami Dolphins.
What superpower would you want? Fly.
Any words of wisdom? Be kind, rewind. I’ve been learning that the hard way while I’ve been watching my James Bond VHS set.
