Who Are You? Amanda Potter

Age: 32.
Occupation: Clerk, Mac’s Convenience Store.  
Dream job: Stewardess, you get to travel around the world.
How long have you been in Drumheller? I grew up here.
What do you like most about Drumheller? The friendly people and there’s a lot to do with kids.
Is there anything you would change? More activities for kids, like an indoor fun centre.
Any travel destinations on your bucket list? Bora Bora. It’s tropical and absolutely beautiful. I like to go off the beaten path.
When and where would you travel to in time? Back about 10 years to see my brother.
Who would you like to hang out with for a day? Celine Dion. She’s a good singer and an excellent role model. I wrote to her once and she sent back an autographed photo. We would have something in common to talk about. My brother and her niece had cystic fibrosis.
Any hobbies? I collect coins and stamps, and write poetry.
What is your most memorable childhood toy? a Puffalump.
Favourite movies: Pay it Forward. I like the concept of doing a nice thing and passing it on.
What would be your theme song? “Truly, Madly, Deeply” by Savage Garden.
Favourite sports: Badminton and swimming.
What superpower would you want? Read minds.
Any words of wisdom? Think before you act.


Who Are You? Billy Hampton

Age: 21.
Occupation: Heritage Interpreter at the Atlas Coal Mine.   
Where are you from originally? Saskatoon, but I’m doing geography at Queen’s University in Ontario.
What do you like most about Drumheller? The landscape. Driving between East Coulee and Drumheller never disappoints.
Any travel destinations on your bucket list? The Yukon. In Grade 4 we learned all about the Klondike Gold Rush and, after working here, I think it would be a cool thing to explore.
When and where would you go in time? Ancient Greece or Rome.
Who would you like to hang out with for a day? The guy from Modest Mouse, or at least him from the 90’s. I like what he sings and writes about.
Any hobbies? Exploring and music.
Do you collect anything? Maps, which goes with being in geography.
What is your most memorable childhood toy? My collection of Thomas Trains when I was three or five.
Favourite movies: I watched The Fifth Element the other day and it blew my mind.
What’s on your playlist? I have a lot of rock, hip-hop, electronic, and pop. I like a good 80’s synth pop jam.
What would be your theme song? “Burning Down the House” by Talking Heads.
Words of wisdom? Be nice to everybody.

Who Are You? Graham Black

Age: Almost 21.
Occupation: Summer Fun Leader.  
What do you do the rest of the year? In the fall,  I go to school in Portland for elementary education with a minor in music.
What would be your dream job? Music teacher.  I love working with kids.
How long have you been in Drumheller? Off and on for 5 years.
Where are you from originally? My parents were missionaries in Pakistan and later I went to school in Three Hills.
Any travel destinations on your bucket list? I’m planning on going to South Africa.
What is the coolest place you’ve been to? New Zealand. I was on the south island and it was gorgeous.
Where would you travel to in time? Ancient Rome or Greece.
Any hobbies? Playing guitar and writing music.
What would be your theme song? “Washed by the Water” by Need to Breath.
What’s on your playlist? Ellie Goulding, Mumford and Sons, and Lumineers.
Play any video games? I’m a Halo fan.
What technology would you like now? A flying car or jetpack. Anything that would help me fly. Or a toaster that toasts perfectly each time.
Favourite sports: I play a lot of soccer.
What would you do with $1 million? Start an orphanage or school in a third world country.
Any words of wisdom? Have fun and laugh at life.
