At approximately 11:15 a.m. on Friday, June 16, a Taber Classic Hotshot truck hauling a large oilfield tank through the village of Carbon on the 836 south highway clipped two power lines.
“Unfortunately they contacted an overhead Telus cable which was attached to our ATCO poles,” said Nick Peelar, Drumheller ATCO area supervisor. “As a result two of our poles ended up getting damaged.”
An ATCO work crew is currently on scene to address the damages and complete a replacement. To do so properly and safely, 17 Carbonites have been left without power.
The power is expected to come back at roughly 6:00 p.m.
