Parent Educator - Part Time Position...Golden Prairie Parent Link is seeking an engaging, energetic, creative, and flexible individual to fill a part time Parent Educator position covering Drumheller, Hanna, Starland County and Kneehill County. This is a 28 hour per week contract position renewed each April 1 dependent on provincial funding. Under the direction of the Parent Link Supervisor, the Parent Educator will be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluation of Parent Link programs and services for children 0-6 years of age and their families.
Position duties will include: planning and facilitating group parent education programs to parents and caregivers primarily based upon the Triple P Parenting Program (training provided), doing other parent education programs as community determined, doing private consultations, offering individual and parent support and referrals, gathering data and reaching out to the community.
The ideal candidate will possess:
• A minimum of a degree in a social and/or human services discipline;
• Group facilitation and training skills – experience working with adult groups over multiple sessions;
• Knowledge of early childhood development;
• Understanding of the needs of parents, children and families;
• The ability to gather and record data for statistical and reporting purposes
Salary dependent on experience and education. Employment is dependent on satisfactory completion of a Criminal Records check and Child Intervention check. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required. Evening and weekend work will be essential. The closing date for receiving resumes is December 15 or until a suitable candidate is found.
