Wil Hemming was received into his Savior’s arms on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the age of 81 years. He grew up in Saskatchewan on the family farm and started logging in Ontario at the age of 15 years. After this time, Wil moved to Calgary where he enjoyed trucking. It was here that he met the first love of his life, Myrna and they were married in 1957. Later, he was kept busy for many years as a building and maintenance supervisor. Wil’s faith and family were the most important aspects of his life. He was very active in the Lutheran Church and lived his faith through his actions and the charities he supported. In June of 2012 he married the second love of his life, Lorna. Wil is survived by his loving wife Lorna; six children Grant, Lana (Shane) Williams, Clint (Lynn), Brad (Gabriela), Lesa (Terry) Fuller and Kent; brother Lorne (Mary); seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Wil is predeceased by his first wife Myrna; sister Bernice and brother Stan. A Funeral will be held at FOOTHILLS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3104 34 Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor David Bode officiating. Interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the charity of one’s choice or to the Lutheran Hour Ministries, 210 Lawrence Avenue, Kitchener, ON N2M 1Y4.
