The countdown is on for the Miss Universe Canada 2015 Pageant  and locals can already support Madison Colberg’s effort by voting for her in the People’s Choice Award.
Leading up to the event, beginning on May 21, Miss Universe Canada is hosting a People’s Choice Award online. This gives everyone a chance to vote for his or her favourite of the approximately 60 finalists from across Canada.
Colberg urges her supporters to vote and vote often.
“Right now I am just trying to get as many votes as I can and keep the word out there,” Colberg tells inSide Drumheller.
Colberg has gone from a standstill to an all out run in becoming a finalist for Miss Universe Canada, her first pageant of its kind. She was successful in her preliminary interviews and is now a finalist. The winner will represent Canada at Miss Universe.
‘I am getting great support, and I am very thankful for that,” she said.
Being the winner of the People’s Choice Award is more than just prestige. The winner will be automatically selected into the top 20 semifinalists.
“We don’t find out any standings until May 21,” she said. “They want to make it exciting.”
Until then, she continues to work to support Operation Smile, the charity of Miss Universe Canada. This charity provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip and cleft palate for children around the globe. This charity holds deep meaning for Colberg.
“I have been collecting donations and reaching out to as many people as I can to share my story and what Operation Smile does,” said Colberg. “This is a major passion because I know what they went through.”
