Senior girls Dynos playing for spot at zones

The DVSS senior girls’ basketball team wrapped up their final pre-playoff tournament of the season in Three Hills this past weekend.
After a tough loss against provincially ranked Olds Koinonia on Friday they bounced back and beat the home team from Three Hills on Saturday morning led by a strong performance by Kali Fournier.
This put them in the consolation final against Trochu on Saturday afternoon. The game went back and forth with both teams taking turns in the lead. Then in the final seconds Tessa Davis scooped up a rebound from Nikki Thomson and scored to beat the buzzer, giving the Dynos a 40-39 victory.
“It was very exciting for the fans and I couldn’t be more proud of the girls” said coach Jen Raugust. “There are only 6 of them and they work really hard”.
The lady Dynos now face the Strathcona Tweedsmuir Spartans for a playoff game to see if they will advance to Zones. The game is set for Thursday March 5th at 5:00 at DVSS and the winner will be off to Zones on March 13th and 14th in Didsbury.
Come out and cheer on the Dynos.
