Drumheller RCMP have charged three area youth with different offenses from 2014, including the fire that burned down the Horseshoe Club building in October.
On September 22nd, 2014, Drumheller RCMP responded to a break-in to the Titans football team building, located at Drumheller Valley Secondary School. Someone had forced entry by kicking in a door, and caused extensive damage to the structure as well as the equipment. Spray paint was all over football equipment, walls, a bench, water bottles, and a fridge. Another door was destroyed inside the building, and cat litter was dumped on the floor. A fire extinguisher had been sprayed all over, a tv smashed, and a laptop stolen. A coach's playbook had been set on fire, but fortunately did not spread. Overall the subjects appeared to have been as destructive as possible with equipment and gear strewn about.

On October 18th, 2014, Drumheller RCMP responded to a fire at the Horseshoe storage shed located behind the Curling Arena. The structure and contents were a total loss, and the investigation revealed this fire was intentionally set.
On October 20th, 2014, Drumheller RCMP responded to a fire at the Little Church on Highway 838 just past the Royal Tyrrell Museum. Someone had set fire to a bible, burning a hole through the floor and causing smoke damage to a wall.

On October 28th, 2014, Drumheller RCMP responded to a break in at the old hospital located on Riverside Drive East in Drumheller. Someone had set fire to furniture inside the structure.
Drumheller's Fire Department and RCMP responded to fire and vandalism at the former Drumheller hospital building on Riverside Drive in November.
On March 2nd, 2015, Drumheller RCMP laid five Criminal Code charges against three youth, with respect to these incidents.
The first youth, a 16 year old female, has been charged with Arson, Sec 434 CC, for the fire at the Horseshoe shed.
The second youth, a 17 year old male, has been charged with Mischief to Property Under $5000, Sec 430(4) CC, for the damage done to the old hospital.
The third youth, a 15 year old female, faces three charges:
1) Mischief to Property Over $5000, Sec 430(4) CC, for the damage done to the Community Football locker room.
2) Arson, Sec 434 CC, for the fire at the Horseshoe shed.
3) Mischief to Property Under $5000, Sec 430(4) CC, for the damage done to the Little Church.
All three youth have been released and will be appearing in Drumheller Youth Justice Court on March 13th, 2015. Because they are youth, their names are not being released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
