Rotary to add new fun feature welcoming visitors to Park

This is an artist’s rendition of a new fun-loving dinosaur sure to put a smile on the faces of visitors to Rotary Park. She should be on display by the end of May.
Children will be encouraged to visit regularly so they can have their photos taken and measure their height when standing next to this humorous beach-going lady who will be holding a measuring stick. And visitors will be encouraged to assist Rotary in raising funds for more community projects by leaving donations in the purse of this new dinosaur attraction.
Construction of the 6-foot-tall Parasaurolophus is being carried out by Dinosaur Valley Studios.
“Rotarians feel this is a worthy project that will enhance the experience of everyone visiting the park. Thousands of visitors and local residents flock to Rotary Park to enjoy family outings that are sure to help children enjoy the outdoors,” says Club President Bev Krabsen.
Rotary Park is home to the famous water fountain and kiddies splash area.
Krabsen adds, with the support of the public, Rotary is looking forward to raising funds for the club’s 100th anniversary project in 2024, a project that will result in a legacy for the community.

Guides cookies on sale

Resized 20210415 203301 3169

Teagyn and the Third Drumheller Brownies are getting ready to sell their infamous Girl Guide cookies at the Drumheller Canadian Tire on Saturday, May 8, and there is plenty to go around with 180 cases of cookies. Last year, Drumheller Canadian Tire helped support the annual cookie sales when COVID restrictions prevented Guides from selling only two days after receiving their shipment. As current restrictions continue to limit in-person interactions and door-to-door sales, the table will provide a safe way for cookie lovers to get their fix. Funds raised through the cookie sales will stay in Drumheller and help support the five local units. Please call local Girl Guide leader Noella Brisbois at 403-334-3841 if you would like to place an order.

Three Hills RCMP offer Safe Exchange Zone

Three Hills RCMP are introducing a Safe Exchange Zone at their local detachment to help provide a safe place for people to meet when buying and selling items online.
The Safe Exchange Zone is located in the parking lot of the Three Hills RCMP detachment in Three Hills.
Department Commander Sergeant Jamie Day says he believes this area will provide an added level of comfort to those meeting others for online purchases, child custody exchanges, or other face-to-face meetings.
Although the Safe Exchange Zone will be open 24/7, Three Hills RCMP are encouraging residents to visit during daytime hours. Officers are not available to supervise these meetings or help negotiate sales.
