Drumheller's Salvation Army Lieutenant Dusty Sauder invites residents to help those in need with this year's food drive on November 27.

Organizers of the annual Salvation Army Food Drive are receiving a great response leading up to the event, but could always use more hands to make it a successful night. The Food Drive will be held Thursday, November 27. The one night blitz is designed to fill the shelves of the Salvation Army Food Bank for the Christmas season and the coming year. Organizers are encouraging a strong showing of volunteers.

“The more volunteers we get the better we’ll be able to cover the town and help those who are less fortunate,’” said one of the organizers Heather Colberg. “This is a great way to get your family involved and encourage them to volunteer.” Organizers are hoping to cover the valley from Nacmine to Rosedale and all points in between. They are also aiming to have volunteer crews in Morrin, Munson and Carbon canvassing those communities. There are opportunities to volunteer by coming to the Drumheller Co-op Mall to help sort. To facilitate a quick and easy collection, the November 14 inSide Drumheller contained
a Red Bag. This is for residents to fill with non-perishable food items and leave on your doorstep to be picked up by volunteers.
