Drumheller Valley Secondary School's Senior Girls Dynos are hard at work competing in zone competition November 14 and 15.

DVSS Senior Girls Dynos volleyball team are competing in school zones competition Novermber 14 and 15 in Carstairs. This past weekend, the Senior Girls Dynos volleyball team travelled to Three Hills for Regionals.
The tournament involved 9 teams with the top  six teams advancing to 2A Zones Nov. 14 and 15 in Carstairs.         The Dynos had two matches Friday night  and lost both of them to Holy Cross from Strathmore and Prairie Christian Academy.
Saturday morning the Dynos faced Oyen and the match went three games with the Dynos winning 15 to 13 in game three. This set the Dynos up for a playoff game against Beiseker, the winner of that match would be guaranteed a place at Zones.
The Dynos were able to defeat Beiseker in two games, this is the first time that the Dynos have won back to back matches all season.  This set up a rematch with Oyen to determine the 5th and 6th seed at Zones.
The Dynos had another match to three games with Oyen but this time the Dynos lost in game three resulting in a 6th place finish at Regionals which means that the Dynos will be off to Zones.
At the beginning of the season, a trip to Zones seemed to be a dream that would be difficult to achieve. The team has not had many victories in the win loss column this season but have made good improvements from the start of the season.
Sullivan said she expects competition will be  tough at Zones this weekend, and the Dynos are hoping  they can play some of their best volleyball all season. It is an accomplishment for this years Dynos to make Zones and they look forward to participating in the tournament.
